Mink

My two permanently located trailcams monitor a path that runs roughly parallel to a creek, with two ponds nearby. This means that there is year-round water, and prime habitat for mink. I’ve seen their distinctive pawprints in the snow, observed their coppery eyes reflecting the glare from car headlights a couple of times, found their burrows, and even caught a glimpse of one in daylight near the creek. The below pictures and videos show that kits were being raised along the creek in the Spring of 2022. Note, too, that my first observation of mink occurred in the Winter of 2022.

2 mink on the move!
