  • Nocturnal Red Fox

    It’s unusual that we observe red fox. I suspect it’s because of the coyote population around us. Unlike the gray fox, they aren’t tree climbers and cannot use that strategy for escape. They are taller, leggier than the grays; note the dark legs.

    I particularly love this image, captured on a lovely Spring day. Although it’s a still, it captures the fox’s motion. Still captured from one of the below videos taken during a severe cold spell. Videos taken on two different trailcams on what was a cold, windy Winter night; as evidenced by the audio.
