Since 1996 I have been renaturalizing a field in Appalachian Ohio, a process that has involved planting hundreds of native saplings and minimizing disturbance as much as possible. The property adjoins another field that has been allowed to rewild, which in turn borders a creek surrounded by dense woodland; this has facilitated wildlife spread. Whereas before you’d just see the occasional rabbit or squirrel, the number and diversity of different species – resident or passing through – has increased dramatically. I began recording this process in 2016 using different trailcams, and this website is devoted to the videos and pictures that are the fruit of my renaturalization project.
