Black Bear

I first saw bear footprints in a nearby state forest in 2006, which really surprised me. I sought confirmation from a ranger and they informed me that bear had been photographed, I assume with trailcams, close to the same location. Since then, local sightings have occurred with increasing frequency, and I thought it would just be a matter of time until a might capture video of one passing through. I didn’t really expect it to happen so soon. They are classified as “Endangered” by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. The below video was captured in early October 2022. The bear is hardly a juvenile, and it may be years until I sight another. But I hope I am wrong.
