Of course, gray fox are omnivores. Their diet consisting of small mammals, birds, eggs, insects, reptiles, vegetable matter, nuts, fruit; so the title of this post is less than accurate. I have several apple trees and the gray fox have been enjoying the fruit the last couple of months. I dumped a couple of buckets of “windfalls” by the trail behind the house, expecting the deer to consume them. The resident gray foxes clearly enjoyed them, too.
